Whether it be their computer, the TV, or the fan, train your children to turn off appliances when not in use. When computers are left running for just a few minutes, then they can opt to put it on sleep mode rather than turn it off. They can also be taught to unplug appliances when not in use for extended periods of time as this would also save up on  lot of energy.

Most importantly, you can also save up on energy but teaching them to turn off the lights whenever they exit a room.

3. Let them play outside

Rather than playing on the computer for hours on end, encourage your children to play outside with other kids. Playing outside means that they would not have to turn on electric fans or air conditioners, as well as the TV, which will translate to big savings and a lot of conserved energy in the long run.

In addition, playing outside with other children will benefit your kids as they will be able to get plenty of exercise, and interaction with other children will help develop their emotional well being.
