If there’s one part of a house that is very easy to decorate, that would be the bedroom. Not because it’s a small space compared to other parts but because it’s the personal space of every individual. You don’t have to worry about the comfort of others but yourself.
This time, you can be a little selfish.
Here are some tips that you may find useful. Read along.
Splash it with colors
You don’t have to call the experts. You just have to go to the hardware store, tell the salesman you want to repaint your wall and he will instruct you what to do first and which paint to use.
Now, the next thing to do is purchase the paint, rollers and brushes. You might also want to check your garage for materials such as brushes and excess paint. This is one perfect way to redecorate your room without spending much.
A little artwork
If you have a passion for painting, or perhaps other handicrafts, why not expose it? Frame your paintings and hang it on the wall.
If you want to change your headboard, you can create a huge mural on a ply board and use it as a headboard.
If your study table seems to be too plain, lay your paintings on the table and cover it with glass. Now where’s that plain and boring study table again?
Bookshelves from scratch
Do you have lots of ply board sheets in your garage? Do you need extra storage space in your bedroom? If so then it would be a great idea to make the bookshelves yourself.
You can cut the ply boards by yourself according to whatever shape and size you want. You can paint it with bright colors or you can also leave it plain.
Play with paint
If your parents won’t allow you to paint the walls, try to experiment on fabric painting instead. A perfect alternative is to paint your bed coverings, blankets and pillow cases. Ask your younger siblings to play with it and you will be surprised on the wonderful art they have created.
You don’t have to be an expert, simply splash in various colors of paint and try to match everything and you’re good to go.
Lighting matters
Another wonderful idea to make a new room out of your old bedroom is to install new bedroom lightings. You can place them at the edges of your bed, the corners of your bedroom or at other places. These lightings will eat up only a few inches of your floor area.
If you’re not satisfied with the previous idea, you can also opt to install new light bulbs with colors. Blue is always perfect but you can choose other colors as well. This will surely make your bed appear like its floating.
Furthermore, you don’t need to have a big budget just to remodel your room. You just have to get the creative juice swishing around and you’re good to go.
