How to Pay AttentionGetting yourself to be attentive can sometimes be so hard to do. Certain factors can affect it and most people do not realize that they have this problem in them. According to The Associated Press, the average attention span of people last 2012 was at about 8 seconds while last year 2000 was at 12 seconds.

People can’t get themselves focused as time goes by especially in this fast paced life. There are so many distractions and it is sometimes sweeter to go tempt yourself with these. Yet, you need to get focused – focus on work, focus on life.

On the opposite side, you may also be having problems on the people around you. You may be focused, but the people around you aren’t. Yet, you have to help them to be one because it also affects you mentally and emotionally. So how do you pay attention?

Plan out

Plan ahead what you have in line – whether it be your daily work, weekly chores and even your entire life. When you have something to look forward to, you will get yourself attentive and focused on what you are doing at the moment.

If there is an uncertainty on what you are going to do next, you tend to let time pass by because you don’t have the urge to do it now. Sometimes, pressuring yourself is good just to get you on track and get things done in no time.

Take a rest

On the other hand, when one doesn’t know how to handle pressure and stress too well, you only end up wandering your mind. When you are too busy, you can’t get seem to get the work done well because you are paying attention to too much things.

Relax and rest. Give your mind a break. Take a sip of coffee or tea. Let your mind recharge for a minute before you do your whole activity again. This clears out your thoughts and prevents you from having mental breakdown and even physical fatigue.

Eat a balanced meal

Have you tried to skip breakfast and have no meal even at lunch? You probably ended up fainting or you haven’t done right, may it be at work or in school. Remember that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Never miss it and you’ll be more active and attentive throughout the day.

Take supplements of vitamins and minerals, too, to keep you energized all through a day’s work. Banana, apple and fish oil are all good to increase iron, magnesium and vitamin B in your body. These are all good to keep you active in body and in mind.

Being attentive is not that hard to do. What you probably need is a bit of lifestyle change. Having proper diet, exercising and having a positive outlook in life may be the key from avoiding yourself to be distracted all the time.
