How to Stop Being Lazy

How to Stop Being Lazy PhotoDo you find it hard to get out of bed? Are you constantly wishing that the day would end so you can have quality time with your bed and couch? If these scenes are familiar, you might have caught the lazy bug.

Laziness yields unproductiveness and it is your worst enemy. It dulls the brain and widens the stomach area. So how do you stop being lazy? Here are 10 steps to stamp out that lazy gene from your system:

Clean your environment

A cluttered environment sends negative, lazy vibes to your brain. It also increases your urge to stay in bed. Get up and clean your room. Organize the things in your office. Remodel your surroundings into something that’s conducive for learning and productivity.

Start with positivity

If you’re having troubles getting out of bed, motivate yourself. What good things are you anticipating today? Tell yourself something exciting is waiting for you; even if it’s just those yummy pancakes for breakfast.

Take cold showers

A cold shower will wake your brain and shake that laziness of your system. One of the reasons why you feel lazy in the morning is that sleepy feeling. Once a cold blast hits your system, your body is forced to wake up, and you can say goodbye to that lazy gene.

Exercise

Aside from making you healthy, exercise can also help you remove the laziness from your system. Once you send your blood pumping and running, it’s impossible for you to settle once you feel that adrenaline running.

Listen to energetic music

If you don’t feel like going out, then turn on those speakers and play some loud beats. Energetic music like house or rock can surely wake your brain up.

Surround yourself with positive people

Hang out with energetic and quirky people. They say happiness and energy are contagious. As a matter of fact, it is. Surround yourself with lively folks, and you’ll get the happy bug, too.

Create a to-do list

Some people are too lazy to do anything because they don’t know what to do first. So before you go to sleep at night, create a to-do list. Post the list on the fridge, or somewhere you can easily see. It’s easier to move if you have a list to follow.

Do something productive with free time

It’s Sunday, and you have nothing to do. Instead of sitting on the couch all day, do something creative. Learn a new language. Do some breathtaking street art. Learn how to dance or sing or play an instrument.

Start today, no procrastinating

Lastly, stop procrastinating. Get up from your bed and start these steps today. The first step away from laziness is saying no to “later” and saying yes to “now”.

Once you’ve had the lazy bug for a while, it will take some time before you can get rid of it. The decisive part is you don’t give up on yourself. Never stop trying. Do things one at a time. Always make an effort. Just follow these ten straightforward steps and before you know it, the bug is gone.
