How to Think Big

How to Think Big PhotoIf you want to succeed, you have to think big. What does this mean? The great persons of our time have all become what they are now because they think big. They know that they can accomplish great things in their lives, and they made it happen. Of course, every single human being is endowed with the potential to accomplish great things. It is just a matter of perspective, and the right action to make that perspective happen.

Aim high…

Bill Gates did not become the software magnate that he is today had he thought then that graduating from college was tantamount to success. Of course, this is not to encourage you to drop out of college – because you really must not. Rather, this is simply to say that one must not be contented easily. If you wish to accomplish big things, then you have to dream of big things. If you think small, you accomplish small. The equation is that simple.

…hit the mark

Dreaming is one thing, accomplishing is another. There is not a single person in this world of six billion individuals who does not dream big. Ever since we were young, we always dreamed of accomplishing great things. But, most of us end up earning marginal incomes. This is because most of us do not have the will to make their dream happen.

If you wish to become an accomplished lawyer, for example, you have to work hard to become one. Success will not be served to you on a silver platter. You have to work hard for it. You have to crawl, cry, sweat, and toil hard to reach for it.

Trial by fire

More often than not, the journey towards success is not an easy one. As a matter of fact, it is just the opposite. The people around you, your teachers, your bosses, will not pamper you towards your dream. They will make it hard for you; some will even try to bring you down. And, sometimes, they will win. Should you give up? Au contraire, you should crank up your motors and forge ahead.

Remember, nobody said that it is going to be an easy one.

Failure is part of it all

As mentioned in the earlier part of this article, there are some people who will try to bring you down. They will be persistent, and sometimes they will succeed. If you fall, you must slowly but surely get back up again, dust off, learn from your mistake, and move on. You learn more from defeat than you do from victory.

Over and above everything else, one can only think big if you believe in yourself. If you think you are a failure, then you will fail. If you think you are an average person, then you will die an average person. If you think you are meant for great things, then you will be meant for great things.
